Valentine's Day LOVE Banner ! ! !

Happy V-Day, y'all!!! I made a couple of these thinking I'd send one to artiste extraordinaire, Leslie Avila (check her link in my list of favorite places on the left sidebar.) A few weeks back she posted on FB a "play it forward" challenge and I was lucky enough to be her 5th & final participant.

The wonderful ribbons I used on my "LOVE" banner were gifts from May Arts. I've entered this in their Valentine challenge too in addition to the matching card seen below with cute little Tilda.

For the banner I used labels & alphas diecuts from the Cricut Storybook cartridge and a folksy heart from another that I do not recall now. The accordian pleated bases for the letters were fanfolds using the MS scoring board. The tops have hand sewn borders of MS Eyelet lace. All parts were antiqued using walnut ink. The altered art end flags were decorated using lots of misc. items from my stash. Along with double-sided DP from K & Co. No dollars were used in the creation of this fun piece.....DH will be so happy!!

Thankful at 7 Kids Challenge Blog

Tab over at 7 Kids has had a rough go with a son who was injured in an auto accident recently. In celebration of thanks the challenge this round is in the spirit of "thankfulness" appropriate for the season as well. I'm very thankful for all my visitors here but mostly for my wonderful DH, children & grandchildren. 2010 has been one of the best as we welcomed little granddaughter, Heather Rose, into our family this Fall. There isn't much that can top that!

I hope you enjoy my post today! I'm hoping to add one tomorrow but am feeling a little under the weather and have some big cooking to do so may not make it here again until after Thanksgiving. This is one of my favorite holidays because I get to spend it surrounded by the people I love most each year. What a blessing! Blessings and peace to you all also.

Mojo Monday #160 Challenge

For this challenge, I rotated the sketch 90 degrees to suit the shape of my 5.5" square card and design. The rubber stamp is a sweet one by Whiff of Joy. The image was colored with Copics with a smear of Stickles to add some bling. The snowflakes across the top are punched, layered over chipboard, with Stickles, a faux crystal, and added with a pop dot. The pink sheer ribbon is by May Arts. I had lots of fun using my new Cottage Christmas which was a prize from Imaginisce!

Here's the cool sketch I followed:

7 Kids Challenge #4

**If you're looking in from Copic Creations...I apologize for the goof on my listing. I wasn't happy with the coloring on this card so I made another with you in mind. Please see the real entry for challenge #35 here: Copic Creations Challenge #35 Card.

This challenge was a ball and my first time using my Kraftin' Kimmie Charlotte stamp and an older Magnolia scary fence which I stamped twice on the moon background. You'll notice I rotated my version of the sketch to better work with my design!

My Charlotte easel card is sewn with lots of distressed layers.
I colored Charlotte in Halloween colors with a deadly pale skin tone with green undertones! Eyes & buttons were coated with clear gloss and a tiny bow was added for fun. The Halloween Spooktacular ticket was created by me too!

Hurry over to the 7 Kids Kollege Fund blog to snag a copy of this cool Suzanne Dean sketch and enter your card! My Fall card will be posted under this entry very soon.

Entries will be accepted until Sept. 28th for a cool $20.00 gift cert. to 7 Kids...one of my favs!

To show you how few Copics I used: skin - G20, E50; YR16, clothing - C1, C3, N7, Y21, YR16, YR04, .03 Copic liner (socks). I'm ordering more Copics soon!!

7 Kids Challenge Blog

One of my favorite places online has added a challenge blog today! They have the greatest selection of Magnolia stamps I've seen anywhere as well as lots of other items...namely my new favorite stamps ~ Kraftin Kimmie. I just love spending time there dreaming about all the stuff I'd love to have. A nice $50.00 prize would buy a lot of Kraftin Kimmies, considering 7 Kids prices are the best around too.

I'm thrilled to enter their first challenge and can't wait to see who wins...me pleeeeez! I love altered art and distressing so this was a tiny return to my roots and an experiment for a momentous occasion. Good luck & thanks to 7 Kids!!

My card was created with a base layer of Bo Bunny Double Dots with additional antiqued & distressed layers sewn with a scribbly free-form stitch on a khaki Bazzill cardstock 5.5" square card. I made 1" polka dot button with 1" round Bazzill chips which I covered with polka dot scraps from my stash, added a bit of cluny lace & pink Bo Bunny DD ribbon to this sweet little Ladybug Tilda (purchased at 7 Kids, of course.)

I stamped Tilda on Neenah cardstock and hand colored her with Copics and a little added white highlight. Tilda is pop-dotted on a Spellbinder's cut scalloped oval that was stamped with Magnolia bees & handcolored. The bee wings were coated with an irridescent gel pen to give them bling. I intended to post Tilda tonight but my photos show a mistake the old eyes missed so I'm correcting and will post on Thursday a.m.
